Sometime ago I wrote that it has become difficult to watch Christian Television because churches have become economics 101 classes and pastors have become professors of micro and macro economics. Well, it seems like some pastors have decided to take it a notch higher. They are no longer content with regular church services but now organize all kinds of business and success seminars where they invite so called 'successful' people in business to speak. In fact in a TV commercial for a similar 'success seminar' taking place in a few days time one of the pastors calls himself a 'success coach', while the host pastor describes himself as the pastor of the 'fastest growing church in Lagos'. Oh what has Christianity turned to?
I have said it before and will continue to say it. You do not need Jesus Christ to be successful in business. I have asked anybody who disagrees to check Forbes 500 richest men in the last 50 years. I am completely perplexed and sad when the Church continues to use these individuals as role models. What happened to the heroes of faith in the bible. Why must the church continue to drift towards focusing mainly on the world system called Capitalism.
Let no man deceive you. Christianity is not the road to material riches and success in this life because that is not what Christ Died for. Christ came that we may have abundant life. Abundant life does not consist in material riches. Ask Michael Jackson or Steve Jobs. Christ died so that through his death we may be qualified for eternal life that will provide what eyes have not seen, neither have ears heard, nor has it entered the minds of any man.
If you seek Christ and his righteousness, he will add everything you need in life as he has purposed for you. That may include business success as no individual or business leader knows more than the Holy Spirit. My advice is; if you desire success, seek the success that will make Jesus say to you 'Welcome you good and faithful servant' on the day of Judgment.
Keep yourselves away from these things. They are idolatry. Seek that narrow path that leads to Heaven that you may find it. Jesus is coming soon. Stay Rapturable.
