Ronaldo Blasts Van Gaal : I trust Mourinho

Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about Manchester United’s imminent appointment of Jose Mourinho and hopes he can bring back the glory days. The Red Devils finished last season in fifth position, out of Champions League places, but won the FA Cup. Louis van Gaal has been sacked already and United are close to bringing in Mourinho.

Ronaldo, who played under his compatriot at Real Madrid, told Spanish TV station La Sexta: “I think it’s good. If it’s something United wanted, I think it’s good.

“I hope Manchester United get back to being what they were because it’s an impressive club but in the last years they lacked an identity a bit.

“And it hurts me seeing United like that because it’s a club that I carry in my heart. I wish Mourinho can carry them back to the top.”
