A Cry For Help: Fausat

FAUSAT: SAVE ME FROM DIRE STRAIT

Where were you born?
I was born in Iwo,Osun State.
You grew up there?
Yes.
You had your up bringing there as well?
Yes exactly.
How did you find yourself in this situation?
What of your husband?
My  husband? Since he got married to another woman 4 years ago has abandoned me to my state. Infact, I never knew I was pregnant. I got terribly sick but I was treated by my mother and I was able to get better. Somehow I discovered I was pregnant and eventually did a pregnancy test. I was confirmed pregnant with a set of twins.
Did you people consummate the marriage?
We never did, it was more of co-habitation. We met in 1999.My first child was born in the year 2000. Life has been so difficult to train my children. I even tried to seek assistance from my in-laws. The school, my first child attends asked me to pay #10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) for the new enrolment   into Senior Secondary School (SS1).
My in-laws couldn’t assist me as well, I also told the father, he   said he had none at all. Rather, he started raining inrectives on me. I   was   terrified:
I got separated from him four years ago and I have been living the life of a destitute with my children at Imota,  Ikorodu, an outskirt in Lagos State.
Presently, my eldest child has another chance to get admission into another school but I could not raise any money again.

My set of twins turned three(3) in 17th November,2015.
When did you start carrying your twins about the street to beg for a living?
Six months ago.
From   where?
The   same Imota. My eldest child   assist me as well.
How do you get here?
To and fro, our fare is #1,400. Several times, we are always on the run from Law Enforcement Officers who are engaged to arrest street-beggars.
One of those terrible days, we were arrested at about 8am and we were hounded into their vehicle and down to  kuramo  end in Lagos. Even when we tried to plead to answer nature’s call, they refused our entreaties. They denied us any access to contact our people or relatives. We were driven all over Lagos from 9pm to Mile 12 down to Ikorodu.
The task force later released my eldest child, so that she can get my family members to know about our where about.
Myself    and my twins were bundled into a Remand home.
I have to disclose this that, I am a person living with HIV/AIDS.
But did you know the contact-person?
No, I don’t   Know.
But you got tested to reify?
Yes I did, I need help from well meaning people for assistance in whatever way they can to mercy upon me and my beloved twins. I have a 16 year old daughter and we all know how delicate it is to have a daughter that also seems to look vulnerable.
Your children have been tested as well?
Yes, they are perfectly Okay. They didn’t contract it.
