Nigerian popular media personality Ebuka have reacted to the lifting of the the suspension of Twitter operations in the nation.
The Nigerian government on Wednesday has announced it had lifted the ban on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter effective 12 am Thursday . Access to the platform has since been restored and Nigerians for the first time in seven months are accessing the site without the aid of a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
This has stirred reactions from Nigerians who perceive the move as away of the government trying to bribe and be in their good books as the election draws near.
Reacting to this, Ebuka opined that the ban as lifted on time for "election season", on his twitter page he wrote: "lifted in time for election season"
Frank Donga on his own part , told Nigerians to be wary of "election-motivated sycophancy starved tweets" as the ban has been lifted. His tweets reads: Watch out for election-motivated sycophancy starved tweets here".
Also according to Ugochukwu Ugwoke, a twitter user, "the Nigerian government lifted the ban on twitter not because they care about the people but because elections are around the corner and they will be needing the twitter platform for the social media campaign.
Another user, Idris, said that he knew when campaign season is around the corner the ban will be lifted.
